100th Anniversary in 2012!

Girl Scouts. It all started in 1912 with one woman, 18 girls, and a dream.

Founder Juliette Gordon Low organized the first group of Girl Scouts on March 12, 1912 in Savannah, Georgia.

A century later, there are 2.3 million Girl Scouts nationwide who are building their courage, confidence and character to make the world a better place – 47,000 of those girls are right here in Northern California.

This year, we commemorate 100 years of Girl Scouting by honoring 100 women “greening” the future for Northern California.

When people think of Girl Scouts, they think “green,” and we are celebrating all the ways in which women are “greening” our future – through economic development, spiritual development, innovation, health, education, the arts, environment, and philanthropy.
